I think I am getting sick, so I haven't run in a couple days. Given that the weather is so cold, I don't feel that pumping barrels of frosty air in my lungs will help with my congestion and ennui. How do other runners deal with the common cold? Do you suck it up and run through the phlegm? Or do you get the rest and fluids that everybody says you need?
I suck on lozenges loaded with zinc, vitamin c, and echinacea whenever I feel a cold coming on. If it's mostly a head cold and I feel up to it, I get out for a short run or two.
ReplyDeleteIf the cold totally knocks me back below my neck, I stay in and drink soup. Usually the zinc doesn't let things get this far.
