ORN: I ran 5 km in a ridiculously slow 35 minutes. I could probably have done somersaults for five km in about the same time and gotten a better workout, but you play the hand you're dealt. I blame the 4 slices of pan pizza with pepperoni and bacon I ate a couple hours before running. You really need to sleep off an overindulgence like that.
Last night's run was a horror show for more reasons than my feeling like a whale. Apparently, my 6.5 mile long run on Sunday demanded a day of recovery. I thought that having run 11 miles before, my 6.5 miler would have been a piece of cake. It wasn't hard. I felt fine afterward. Yet running yesterday was murder on my shins and calves. I was actually cramping like I did shortly after my 11 miler last week.
I think I will take today off and let everything rest. Besides, I gave blood today, and I don't want all my blood to fall out.
