ORN: 7.28 miles in 1:20:03. It was a lovely evening run. I didn't get lost, even though I ran through an unfamiliar section of the park, but I did not do the last 3/4 mile because I forgot to make this extra loop. I breezed through the neighborhoods and park with decreasing effort and discomfort, especially on the return trip. I really enjoyed myself. I had to pee like crazy, but I had fun anyway. It was a great run.
I began and finished my run at the store that hosts my running group, but I blew them off this morning. I slept in. I didn't have a good reason other than being unusually tired from being in sleep debt all week. Could be worse. I could have to take care of two young kids, one of whom is nursing, while my spouse gallivants across the Emerald Isle. Still, I've been unusually fatigued lately.
When I finished, Tracy and Diane were there to greet me and tell me how hardcore I am. I graciously accepted their praise and admiration, because I welcome every victory. They might have snickered after I left because I am such a slowpoke or funny looking or 37 [and they are 20-something], but I try not to think about that too much. They are sweet and supportive.
One last thing, I submitted my blog post on The Basics of Running to the Runners' Lounge. Check out their other entries. Next week's topic -- motivation! What crazy things will I say? Stay tuned.
Oh no, we were sincerely impressed. Diane and I are both occasional run-skippers, and I'm particularly bad if I don't have someone to go with. That's why it takes seven of us to do 18 today!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you about the sleep deficit; I think I may get to sleep in some day. Clearly, not today.
