Eff-ed up day

ORN: 3.1 miles in 33 minutes even. My knees felt like crap, and I sweat like George Bush in front of the War Crimes Tribunal. Oh yeah, I went there.

Today was a packed, strange day. Seven people retired from work today, including one of my fellow coders. Wifey was hella sick. Both of us are sleep-deprived because of her incessant coughing. Little One had a dance recital. My child: brilliant, talented, and gorgeous. Everyone else's children suck. We planned to go out for dinner beforehand with my in-laws. I had much to do outside of the @work context, and yet I had to sit there in my cube all day and stare at the glowing box. *sigh* I felt a bit adrift today, much like this paragraph.

On top of everything else, The Belle of Louisville's calliope was rockin' the valley, so on my run, in between iPod songs, I could hear that crazy, hooty, ragtime shit. When one is already having a trippy day, calliope music does not help reverse the trend.
