Decisions, decisions

ORN: As Little One is fond of saying these days, Holy Guacamole! Today, I ran 3.0 miles in 28'57", which isn't a PR but it's darned good for a regular old workout. I pushed it a little harder than usual because my legs felt like they had a little more oomph in them after mile #1. Then, when I finished mile 2 and saw the split time [9'40" or so] and felt that I still had a little pepper in the pot, I kept the pace going. I didn't go all out on the last quarter mile or so, but I did raise the intensity even further. I guess you could say I finished doing several 50 yard strides, putting on the heat at the beginning of each city block and slowing down by the middle.

Anyway, go me.

I've decided not to run in the Otter Creek Trail 8 Mile Fun Run. Why? No t-shirt. They have t-shirts for the OCT marathon, but not for the 16- or 8-mile fun runs held on the same day, at the same place. That kinda stinks, but I think it is a relatively small event. So I am looking at my other racing options for December. There are a host of 5Ks throughout the month; I'll just have to pick one. I'd prefer a longer distance, though. 5Ks are getting old. Plus if I run a 5K on a Saturday, then I have to run a double to get my "long run" distance in.
