Two for two in 2007!

I ran again today. That means I have run every day this year. This time I ran a full three miles, but I did stop to walk for about 100 feet. Today my hips and groin were bothering me, probably because my stride was too short and clippy. It was 34° this morning, and that was the worst part of the whole run. I had a fleece pullover, a wool hat, gloves, and a long sleeve t-shirt on, and it felt like I was running with a backpack on. At least I was not cold. I wasn't too hot, either. All that gear was just heavy.

For me, the worst part of running in the cold is the effect it has on my throat and lungs. Intellectually, I know there is nothing wrong with breathing in all that cold air, but I cannot help but feel that all those frigid humours/vapours lend themselves to a melancholic, consumptive disposition. [In case you cannot tell I'm feebly trying to write like a 17th century physician, warning against damp and drafty air.] I've got several leeches on my back, though, and I am feeling much better.

As far as actual injuries go, thanks to a stretch I learned in the newspaper recently, my plantar fasciitis is doing well, and my hips seem to be fully recovered.

Today will be a bummer, so I am glad I ran. It feels good knowing that at least I did my run today.
