ORN: 5.89 miles in 1:00:02. I had numerous aches and pains today, so it was a struggle the whole way. But, I finished. Today was pleasant enough for a 35° day. The sun was out, and the river was up. The Ohio had swallowed up a couple stretches of my route since we've received quite a pantsload of rain lately. I skipped yesterday's run because it was raining. I also went over
500 miles with Nike+, which is sort of an accomplishment.

My nice, neat, orderly training plan is all higgledy-piggledy because — I — need — pants. And shirts. And sweaters. You see, the family and I are making a trek northward to the Outlet Malls™ to load up on spring and late-winter fashions like the ones you see to the left. That means I will not be able to do the much-feared 10 mile training run at Iroquois Park with my
running group. Legend has it that the course they will run is 10 miles, all uphill, with rabid wolverines and vampire bats everywhere. It's unfortunate that I will miss it for several reasons, not the least of which is that the Derby Half Marathon does a loop around the park early on.
Now, I am going to have to find out how to squeeze in my 10 miles on my own. 400 laps around the motel parking lot? Running a three miler is easy on most road trips. You just trot out to the Dairy Queen and back.
Ten miles either involves some route planning or laps and laps and laps. And we don't know precisely where we are going.
